The Joomla! web application framework is one of the new emerging web application frameworks for PHP. What makes this framework different from it's brothers and sisters is the fact that is has been developed on PHP4 and below an already existing content management system which is proving itself in the real world everyday.
This session will discuss the Joomla! Framework in detail, going over the different packages and the overall mindset of how the Framework is designed to be used. We will include examples of functional Joomla! extensions in action, provide tips and tricks how to extend the Framework to implement that 'quick hack' your boss has been asking for. Finally we will demonstrate how you can easily create completely new web applications based on the Framework in just a few lines of code.
