Russell Pavlicek has long been a proponent of Open Source software as a business tool. Currently employed by Cassatt Corporation which provides flexible infrastructure for both Open and closed source platforms, he has over two decades of experience in the computer industry. He has been a panelist on The Linux Show weekly webcast and has been a contributor to a number of Linux websites. He was an Open Source columnist for both InfoWorld and Processor magazines. A Linux user since 1995, Russell wrote one of the earliest books to explain the business value of the Open Source movement ("Embracing Insanity: Open Source Software Development").
