Mike Grandinetti

Chief Marketing Officer, Virtual Iron Software

Mike Grandinetti has spent 15 years as a senior executive at 5 venture- backed technology companies. He helped lead 4 ventures to successful exits for his investors. Highlights include co-leading Raptor through a successful IPO, an eventual acquisition by Symantec and it’s designation as the Fastest Growing Software Company in the US. He was a key part of the senior executive team that recently sold Yantra, a Deloitte Fast 50 Company, to ATT for over 6X revenues. He also helped lead ViewLogic through their IPO and their subsequent $500M acquisition by Synopsys. He is currently a member of the executive team at Virtual Iron, his 5th consecutive venture, which has raised $32M from top tier investors including Matrix Partners, Highland Capital, Goldman Sachs, Intel and SAP. Through-out these experiences, he has demonstrated a consistent track record in identifying emerging customer requirements and in successfully commercializing advanced technologies He sits on the Advisory Board of Flagship Ventures, Echelon Ventures and SEED Capital and is a long-serving judge in MIT’s $100K global entrepreneurship competition. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Practice of Entrepreneurship at the MIT Sloan School of Management and also teaches an executive seminar on entrepreneurship at the Danish Technological University in Copenhagen. He is a frequent keynote speaker, panel moderator and seminar leader at industry events and has been quoted in hundreds of business, trade, financial and technical publications. He has been published in numerous technical and business journals. He serves on the advisory board of the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council Open Source SIG Group He previously served as a strategy consultant at McKinsey and Company.
Mr. Grandinetti received his BS in Engineering, magna cum laude, from Rutgers, where he was appointed to the National Engineering Honor Society, and his MBA from Yale, where he was named the Jess Morrow Johns Memorial Scholar and was the recipient of the Procter and Gamble Marketing Leadership Award as well as a Yale Teaching Fellowship.
