Despite the free download, however, the real cost of an open source deployment or migration can be substantial. This presentation will detail the typical up-front and continuing costs incurred by organizations that deploy or migrate to open source software and compare them to the costs of commercially licensed software. Suggestions for reducing open source software deployment and migration costs will be presented.
