Join us and learn how to fulfill the emerging need for "Situational Applications." These short term projects are developed by business teams that are "just enough IT savvy" to create their own solutions to drive their part of the business. Wikis have evolved to include querying and scripting capabilities as well the ability to incorporate Web Services, search, news feeds and rich client technologies such as AJAX. Using the "Application Wiki," a framework for collaborative development of instant applications using wiki-like tags, these teams can create their own situational solution, service or disposable application in minutes with little or no code.
This session will present and demonstrate an Application Wiki tool running on Linux and WebSphere Community Edition, which is based on the Apache Geronimo Project. It will discuss how this platform can be leveraged to help bring down the cost of building, deploying and managing content and facilitate web programming for non-programmers who are business domain experts.
