The LAMP stack, Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Perl/Python, is the most widely used set of open source applications in the world. Although embraced by millions of people, often in mission-critical situations, there has been a lack of analysis on the quality, security, and reliability of LAMP. Using advanced static source code analysis techniques, Coverity's scientists have recently analyzed the source code of more than 50 open source applications in order to understand the comparative strengths and weaknesses of each application. Coverity will present the results of their research and provide insight into the quality and security of the LAMP stack and other open source applications
