In this presentation, the speakers will explain how to setup and operate an open source software mirror. With the recent rash of security compromises in open source mirroring, there will be a heavy emphasis on keeping the server and the software repository secure. Some of the specific aspects that will be covered include (but are not limited to) using rsync, delivery mechanisms (ftp, http, etc), handling demand, scaling issues, and hardware considerations.
