Mike Olson, vice president for Embedded Technologies at Oracle, is a technology industry veteran with more than 20 years experience in engineering, marketing, sales and business management. He joined Oracle after its acquisition of Sleepycat Software, makers of the open source embeddable database engine Berkeley DB. Olson served in sales and marketing roles at Sleepycat before being named its Chief Executive Officer in 2001.
Prior to joining Sleepycat, Olson served in technical and business management positions at database vendors Britton Lee, Illustra and Informix. He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley.
