Macworld Conference & Expo is seeking talented speakers who are objective, dynamic and have boundless enthusiasm for sharing their expertise and knowledge. Priority will be given to speaker applications that combine breadth of interest with cutting-edge technology.

 Conference Format
The conference will include the following formats.

Mac User and MacIT Conference Sessions
Conference sessions present topics of interest in the Mac market and explore how MacOS-related tools are used to enhance productivity or shed light on how to resolve a particular problem or issue. Conference sessions can be either single leader, co-presenters, or panel formats with the goal of presenters sharing their insights and expertise on a particular instance of industry knowledge. Sessions are approximately 60 or 75-minutes in length.

Power Tools Conferences
Power Tools Conferences are 2-day  programs that provide attendees in depth training on popular Mac software tools. Power Tools are comprised of  a series of 8-12 instructional segments (4-6 per day) taught by either a single subject matter expert or a faculty of experts that are invited by the lead instructor/Power Tool creator. Instructors prepare a workbook for attendees. Attendees must pre-register to reserve a spot. 

Market Symposiums 
Market Symposiums 1-day programs that focus on providing technical training and business technology expertise in vertical markets. The day is comprised of a series of discrete sessions that are led either by a single industry expert or by a  taught by  faculty of experts that are invited by the lead instructor. Instructors prepare a workbook for attendees. Attendees must pre-register to reserve a spot. 

Hands-on MacLabs
3-hour hands-on lab learning sessions on popular Mac software tools that are limited to 30 attendees. Attendees are required to bring their laptops with software pre-installed in accordance to a listing of pre-requisites set by the instructor. Instructors walk attendees through each exercise teaming with a Teachers Assistant to provide individual assistance when necessary.

Birds-of-a-Feather Meetings
BOFs are casual, informal discussions where attendees can meet like-minded people. They are open to all Macworld Conference & Expo attendees and usually about 8-10 people. Meeting topics may focus on getting resources for doing your job, getting answers to tough questions or the latest developments in the community. AV equipment is not applicable.


 Suggestions and Reminders
Keep in mind that the quality of the description that you submit matters! The ability for your description to clearly explain what the attendees will learn from you is the key to having your submission make it through the various rounds of evaluation.

Product pitches are not education. Attendees do not like being sold on your company when they have paid to receive tactical training.

Do a reality check on your submission. Its important to be aware of the marketplace and what’s on attendee minds.


 Evaluation Criteria

Applications are subjected to the following review: 

Originality
Topics should provide a unique perspective, viewpoint or way of doing something.

Timeliness and Interest
Topics must contain new material not previously presented at other events.
  
Educational Value 
An objective presentation that meets the educational needs of the audience is optimal to enhancing the credibility of the speaker, the speaker's employer and the conference. Sales pitches are NOT considered. 

 Notification
Accepted applications will be notified in the early fall. Please be aware of the following.

Reference Materials 
Reference materials are required. Our audience appreciates receiving support documentation to enhance their educational experience and serve as a reference when they return to the office. (If you rely on live demonstrations, your reference materials will be an outline of the demonstration with key reference points.) The only exception to this are the Birds-of-a-Feather Meetings.

100% Adherence to NO COMMERCIALISM Policy
The educational programs at Macworld Conference & Expo are NOT the appropriate place for promoting your company, product, service or solution.

No Substitutions
Speaker and panelist substitutions are not allowed, except in the case of an emergency. In the event that a speaker cannot fulfill his/her commitment due to an emergency, a substitute may be submitted in writing for approval, however this does not guarantee a speaking slot for the substitute.

Financial Assistance
Speakers are responsible for expenses and hotel and travel arrangements.
